Who the Green Centre is ....

The green centre was started in 1994 by Rick Spillane. At a time when green waste was being thrown in Victoria’s landfill sites as it has been done for generations, Rick Spillane had a green waste vision. To stop green waste filling up our tips and recycling 100% of it into organic soils, mulches and composts. Based in Tullamarine, the Green centre recycles and produces it’s organic products on site and distributes them throughout Melbourne and country Victoria.

The Green Centre was asked to come and speak on the 3AW Garden show in January 2005. Rick Spillane spoke with Darren and Jane for about half an hour on the recycling process and the benefits of using our organic soils, mulches and composts.

The Green Centre has also been featured on Channel 31 twice. The first time was on The Garden Tap, with Margot McDonald. They too did a feature on our recycling process and the benefits of using organic products. The twenty minute show was aired twice in 2005.

The other time The Green Centre was shown on Channel 31 was on Vasilies Garden Show. Another popular Gardening show in Australia, Vasili regularly used The Green Centre soil whilst building fantastic gardens.
